Itinerary

Saturday
York

From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to York, where we enjoy some free time at leisure to explore. One highlight is York Minster, the largest Gothic Cathedral north of the Alps and a spectacular masterpiece featuring stunning stained glass. Don’t miss the famous Betty’s English Tea Rooms too, plus the cobbled streets of The Shambles (Europe’s oldest shopping street) and Stonegate, with its many oak-beamed shops, pubs and cafés. Later, we check into our hotel in time for dinner.

Sunday
Harrogate Spring Flower Show

After breakfast we travel by coach to the Harrogate Spring Flower Show. Here we discover a trestle-load of gardening ideas, inspiring workshops, floral exhibitions, charming show gardens and so much more! We rejoin the coach later in the afternoon for our journey home, buzzing like a bee with happiness on such a lovely afternoon surrounded by gorgeous flowers and like-minded company.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel (JG3 or JG4 rating) similar to the Best Western Bradford Guide Post, Mercure Bradford Bankfield and the Holiday Inn Doncaster. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
