Call the Midwife Locations Tour & London

2 days
from £149££pp

2025 Mar May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct

Pedal back in time for this Call the Midwife backstage tour at Chatham Dockyard, where our very own midwife will lead us through the recognisable cobbled streets where many memorable scenes, starring Miranda Hart and Jenny Agutter, took place. This break is a fantastic chance see original props from the show and hear little-known behind-the-scenes stories of filming. With time in London to shop or sightsee also included, this break provides a chance to compare 1950s and 60s London to the present day!

Highlights

  • Return coach travel
  • Overnight stay at a selected hotel outside London (JG3 rating) with breakfast
  • Admission to Chatham Dockyard & Call the Midwife Locations Tour (with a goody bag for each person)
  • Free time in London for shopping & sightseeing

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival & London at Leisure

After a morning departure, the coach takes us to London for some free time to enjoy the capital at your leisure. From a trip on the London Eye and a spot of retail therapy on Oxford Street to a stroll through Hyde Park and the chance to dine at one of the capital’s best restaurants (not included) there is plenty to do. Later, we transfer to our hotel and check in for our overnight stay.

Day 2
Call the Midwife Locations Tour & Return Home

Following breakfast at the hotel, we head to Chatham Dockyard where we will be greeted by our midwife guide for the Locations Walking Tour. After the tour, we rejoin the coach for our journey home.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel outside London. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
