Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival

Ferry to Calais and on to our hotel in the Netherlands, where we stay on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2
Keukenhof Gardens

We take a trip to the beautiful Keukenhof Gardens with their incredible floral displays and manicured parkland. Across the 32-acre extent of the world’s largest bulb flower park, visitors are treated to a spectacular display of colour with over seven million bulbs blooming in the spring including brightly-hued tulips, hyacinths and daffodils! Later, we stop for dinner en-route back to the hotel (not included).

Day 3
Amsterdam including canal cruise

Today we visit Amsterdam, the city of canals, bicycles and cafés. Included in our day here is a wonderful canal cruise, one of the best ways to see this unique city. Amsterdam also boasts some famous museums including the Anne Frank House, a thoughtful exhibition of the famous war-diarist’s life. There are also plenty of atmospheric lanes and quarters to explore plus the grand Dam Square with its Royal Palace. As well as time to enjoy an early dinner before the coach takes us back to our hotel (not included).

Day 4
Return Home

Travel back to Calais for our return ferry home.

Accommodation

We’ll stay at a comfortable hotel (JG3 or JG4 rating) within approximately one hour’s drive of central Amsterdam, such as the WICC Hotel. All rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure, therefore we cannot guarantee that the hotel will have a lift and/or ground floor rooms and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Hotel Rating

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
