Goathland (Heartbeat) & Whitby (full day)
Our first visit takes us to the pretty village of Goathland, hidden away in the stunning North York Moors National Park. The village has attracted visitors since the 19th century, but Goathland’s popularity has soared since its appearance as Aidensfield in the hit TV series Heartbeat and its role in the Harry Potter films. Next up is the charming coastal town of Whitby, famed for its connection to Bram Stoker’s Dracula and for its striking jet jewellery. Wander around the busy harbour before tackling the climb up to the atmospheric ruined abbey perched on the cliffs. Whitby was also once the home of the famous explorer Captain Cook, who lived here as an apprentice.
