Day 1
Arrival
From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner and a relaxing first evening.
Day 2
RHS Chelsea Flower Show
We head into London for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. With a huge range of designs, plants and plots, there are ideas here for every taste and growing space. There are plenty of refreshments available too, everything from cafés, farmers’ market stalls, wood-fired pizza and seafood restaurants to a real ale bar and champagne lounge, or you might want to picnic and relax to the sound of live music at the Ranelagh Gardens bandstand. Later on, we board the coach with plenty of ideas for our own gardens and head back to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner.
Day 3
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and make our way to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where a springtime stroll is the order of the afternoon, with free time to explore. Dating back to the early 18th century as a royal palace, Kew Gardens is now a globally renowned institution for plant-based research. Exploding with colour and with no less than 50,000 plants, there is a range of different areas to explore including the Arboretum, the peaceful Japanese garden, the remarkable indoor rainforest climbing within the Palm House and the Kitchen Garden, once used to supply fresh produce to members of the royal family living at Kew Palace, such as Queen Charlotte and George III. Don’t miss the Grade I listed Temperate House too, the world’s biggest Victorian glasshouse filled with rare plants from remote locations across Asia, Australasia, the Americas and Africa, many of which are incredibly rare or are even extinct in the wild. We re-join our coach in the mid-afternoon and continue our journey home.
